One or more seasoned songwriters will describe the song writing process as they see it, answer questions about and make suggestions regarding how to get started, and how to finish, writing your own songs.

Workshops
It is still a long time before the convention, and we've not yet decided on the workshops that we're going to offer at OVFF 22. You should return to this page after September 1, 2006, to see what we're planning. The final schedule is often not available before the middle of October, but we usually have a pretty good idea of what we will be offering by then.
That said, its a pretty good bet that we will have several, and it's likely that one or more of the following will be included:
Juried One Shots
A small panel of experienced performers watch a performance from each of the people who attend the session, then give helpful (and gentle) critiques of the delivery, choice of material, and showmanship exhibited. This is not so much a one-shot as a performance workshop, with personal attention paid to each attendee by the panel. If you ever wanted advice on any aspect of your performance, this is the workshop for you.
Guitar Workshop
These workshops tend to concentrate on guitar technique, though there have been some that covered everything from how to select the right guitar and the care and feeding of your instrument through how to jam with others.
Yoga
In recent years, OVFF has hosted one or two yoga sessions in the mornings to help those interested limber up and relax before a long day of dodging puns, reaching for high notes, and other strenuous activity. It is likely that this year will be no exception, especially since our Guest of Honor, Dr. Mary Crowell, is a certified yoga instructor.
Percussion Workshop
In the past, such filk luminaries as Brenda Sutton and Sally Childs-Helton have presented percussion workshops for the beginner and intermediate level drummer in all of us.
