Kirsten has been singing most of her life. Her parents both held doctorates in music (organ and voice) and her brother has a masters in classical saxophone. Because to this, she tended to stay away from playing an instrument much of her life. She started really doing music when she got involved with the SCA in 1991 and her now husband, Scott Vaughan. For many years she mostly sang back up for Scott in their medieval/celtic/SCA act. But upon forming The Blibbering Humdingers in 2007, she started taking a more active role in lyric writing and singing lead and has truly bloomed as a songwriter in her own right. She also plays hand percussion and does her best to keep Scott from getting too stupid.

When not doing music she runs an online shop (MyFunkyCamelot.etsy.com) selling her clothing art and accessories — and also still runs a merchant stall (Camelot Treasures) at SCA events like the Pennsic War and around the mid-Atlantic. She's also the proud mom of two teenage boys who often perform with the band these days.
