Marilisa Valtazanou

Marilisa is half of Playing Rapunzel, a quarter of Chimes, a quarter of Divine Strumpet, and one sixteenth of of the n'Early Music Consort– all in all, a band and a bit in herself! Marilisa was born in Iowa, raised in Greece and now lives in London; she celebrates her multinational background by having a song in an obscure language for every occasion. She will attempt to play any instrument that is foolishly left in her path, and she occasionally writes songs, but mainly she sings. A lot.

Outside filk, Marilisa performs with her local G&S Societies, sings in a madrigal consort, takes cello and singing lessons, and performs with Playing Rapunzel at folk clubs and other venues. She also does a full time office job, and occasionally sleeps.
