Marilisa Valtazanou IF SAM

Marilisa was born in Iowa, raised in Greece and now lives in London. She performs with Mich Sampson as Playing Rapunzel both inside and outside the filk community, bringing filk music to the folk world and vice versa. They have released two albums, Abseiling for Beginners and Hanging by a Hair.

She owns and attempts to play far more instruments than is good for her or anyone else; dabbles in opera, operetta, choral music, early music, and anything else that comes her way; and writes whimsical songs about literary protagonists, cautionary tales about the Internet, and the odd musical. She has won several Sam awards, and was Guest of Honour at the 23rd UK filk convention.
