Mark Bernstein has been filking since 1975, and is honored that "Welcome Home" is his second Pegasus-nominated song. His version of Robert Heinlein's "Green Hills of Earth" won Best Filk Song in 1993. He was inducted into the Filk Hall of Fame in 2016, mostly for his work teaching and encouraging shyer, less experienced filkers. "Welcome Home" is for them.
