Peter Alway IF

Peter Alway has been involved in filk music since his brother Dave dragged him to FKO and OVFF in 2003. Peter's main axes are the baritone ukulele and the mountain dulcimer- because only 4-string instruments are humanly playable. He tries to maintain a balance of instrumental music, silly songs about squirrels (and one hedgehog) and pretty songs about the universe and the wonder of music itself.

When he's not making music, Peter teaches astronomy part-time at a community college, and publishes reference books for rocket modeling hobbyists, filled with drawings and stories of historical rockets.

Wandering the woods or setting forth

But the sorcery for mastering the air

Reading books of science and of fey
Smiling as you hear our songs
Do they hold the key in what they say
