| Marilisa was born in Iowa, raised in Greece and now lives in London. She performs with Mich Sampson as Playing Rapunzel both inside and outside the filk community, bringing filk music to the folk world and vice versa. They have released two albums, Abseiling for Beginners and Hanging by a Hair. She is also one third of the Pensive Teapots with Robert Beckwith and Edwin Brady, one third of Dive to Atlantis with Steve Macdonald and Katy Dröge-Macdonald, and sometimes a part of assorted other ensembles, bands, and choirs - in short, she might be just a little bit keen on this whole concept of making music with other people. She owns and attempts to play far more instruments than is good for her or anyone else, and writes whimsical songs about literary protagonists, cautionary tales about the Internet, and the odd musical. She has won several Sam awards, and was Guest of Honour at the 23rd UK filk convention. |
